Nail fungus is a fairly common disease, which in the early stages does not pose a specific problem for a person. However, with the development of long -term pathology, waste products of pathogenic microflora can cause serious body intoxication. In the treatment of this disease, many relatively effective drugs are used, among them celandine from the prominent toenail fungus.
The nature of celandine
Celandine is a poisonous plant that releases orange juice when its stem is broken. In folk medicine, herbs are used to treat many diseases and are part of various medicines. Given the fact that the plant is considered poisonous, a logical question arises: is it possible to treat nail fungus with celandine?
Herbs have no negative effect on the body in cases where the prescribed dose is observed in the preparation of the drug composition. Using celandine against nail fungus, you can quickly suppress the development of pathogenic microflora. This is due to the fact that the composition of plants includes the following components:
- mineral salt;
- alkaloids that block the inflammatory process;
- vitamins that restore local immunity;
- essential oils;
- antibiotics;
- organic acids;
- flavonoid.
By treating nail fungus with celandine, it is fashionable to achieve the following results:
- destroy fungal spores;
- softens the affected skin area;
- relieves inflammation;
- eliminates itching and pain;
- accelerates the healing of open wounds.
Mountain celandine is considered the most effective remedy. However, to cure nail fungus, you can use plants collected in other regions. In the treatment of this disease is used in the form of:
- alcohol tincture;
- bath;
- compress;
- stew;
- oil.
The choice of treatment method mainly depends on the preferences of the patient. In each case, you can achieve the same result.
Jus
With nail fungus, you can use celandine juice. Before each treatment session, you must regularly perform the following steps:
- steam your fingers in hot water;
- remove fungal infections on nail plates using pumice stone or other medications.
To prepare the juice, it is necessary to scroll all parts of the plant through a meat grinder: leaves, stems, flowers. The resulting slurry should be well squeezed. Liquid celandine can be mixed with 70% alcohol in a 1: 1 ratio (additional agents are infused during the day) or used separately.
The resulting solution is applied to the affected area on the nail plate 1-2 times a day. Treatment with plant juices lasts at least three months and ends after complete recovery of the damaged part of the finger.
In summer, it is recommended to use freshly cut celandine juice. Before applying the drug on the affected nail, it should be treated with hydrogen peroxide.
Butter
The recipe for making foot fungus oil includes the following components:
- 1 liter glass jar with lid;
- 50 grams of freshly cut celandine;
- 100-150 ml of sunflower oil, heated in a water bath, or olive oil.
Celandine oil from nail fungus is made as follows:
- The plant is washed first under running water. After that, it must be laid out on a tray and wait until the grass is completely dry.
- Celandine is placed in a glass jar.
- The plant is compacted and poured with cooking oil on top.
- The bank is placed in a place inaccessible to sunlight. The drug is infused for a month.
- At the end of the allotted time, you need to pass the resulting oil through cheesecloth.
If desired, the drug can be mixed with lemon juice in a proportion of the last 1-2 drops with the first two tablespoons. This component softens the plate, making it easy to remove the affected part. Nail fungus treatment with celandine oil ends after the nail has healed.
To soften the dish, you can also use a combination of this tool with 3%vinegar. The proportions in this case are similar to those used when using lemon juice. Obtained by combining celandine oil and vinegar, the agent is applied to the affected area in the form of compresses.
Infusions and decoctions
Alcoholic tincture based on celandine is made from freshly cut plants. The grass should be washed first and dried from moisture. Next, the plant is mixed with vodka in a ratio of 2: 1. The tincture is aged for 12 days. Another recipe uses a combination of 250 ml of 70% alcohol and 20 drops of celandine oil. The composition is infused for no more than one day.
This tool is recommended to use with extreme caution, as it has some contraindications. Initially, you can apply no more than 5 drops of alcohol tincture to the damaged area on the nail plate. In the future, the dose of the drug is gradually increased to 20 drops. The duration of treatment should not exceed two weeks.
To make a stew, you also need the stems and leaves of the plant that are washed and dried. All ingredients are poured into a container and poured with boiling water so that the water completely covered the celandine. Next, the pan or jar is wrapped in a thick cloth and placed in a dark place. The broth should be infused for five days, after which the product should be filtered through gauze.
To increase the effectiveness of the drug, it is recommended to mix it with olive or vegetable oil in a ratio of 1: 1. The drug is used 2-3 times a day, and treatment lasts about two weeks.
To make another decoction, you also need fresh leaves and stems of celandine, which have been previously dried. 5 tablespoons of the plant should be mixed with 6 water plants. The composition is then baked and boiled for a few minutes. Upon completion of the last stage, the product is diluted with cold water, bringing to room temperature. The decoction is applied on the affected nail area and aged for 30 minutes. This method of treatment is supplemented with antifungal ointment.
Compressing
Therapeutic compresses obtained from celandine are used mainly in the final stages of the disease, when the fungus has affected the structure in the nail plate. This tool softens the affected area, as the therapeutic component easily penetrates deep inside.
To compress, a product obtained by mixing crushed iodinol and dried celandine was used. The product obtained in this way is applied in small amounts on the damaged nail plate and covered with cellophane. Compressed should be kept for more than 20 minutes. At the end of the procedure, it is not recommended to wet your fingers for 3-4 hours.
After compressing, it is recommended to treat the damaged nail plate with antifungal ointment. To achieve the best effect, it is recommended to carry out the procedure before bedtime.
Tray
Baths are used primarily to prevent the development of fungal infections. To set it up, you must perform the following steps:
- prepare 5 tablespoons of dried celandine and pour 1. 5 liters of boiling water over it;
- the composition is again placed on the stove and boiled for 5 minutes;
- the product is diluted with cold water.
The duration of each session with the use of therapeutic baths does not exceed 20 minutes.
In the treatment of pathology, alkaline-based drugs from fungi have often been used recently. This tool is sold in many pharmacies and is used to remove various skin defects, including papillomas and corns. The plant itself is not included in the composition of the product. This drug is used primarily as an adjunctive agent in the treatment of fungi. It is able to stop the development of inflammatory processes and partially relieve itching.
